AsiaPacificFilms.com makes it possible for you to see award-winning movies that matter to you.

Watch movies that entertain, educate and inspire.  Check back often because we are constantly adding more films to our Library.

We give you great DVD quality 24/7  so you can watch films on your computer, iPad, iPhone, television or project them on a big screen.

You can watch the films of your choice by purchasing a three-year subscription to the stream using your credit card.

If you are from an educational institution and are interested in many films, your best option may be to subscribe to or purchaseAsian Studies in Video, an online collection of hundreds of films related to Asian culture, and including most of the Asia Pacific Films catalog, plus other titles. Public Performance Rights

All films purchased through Asia Pacific Films include public performance rights, which allows an institution to exhibit these films, so long as:

• No admission fee/donation is collected.
• The screening takes place at the purchasing venue itself.
• The primary audience for the screening is members of the purchasing institution (for example, students and faculty of a school) and the screening IS NOT advertised or promoted to the general public.

Who are we?

We are an experienced team of Asia and Pacific film programmers working in concert with scholars, critics, and curators who carefully select our films. Our curators are members of the Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema (NETPAC), a well-respected international organization that is over 20 years old.

What’s our storyline?

By acquiring digital rights, and streaming our film collection through Asia Pacific Films.com, we give you access to half of the world’s films: films made by Asians and Pacific Islanders.

Fact: 95 percent of these films are never seen outside of their own countries because mainstream distributors don’t bring them to the global market, or filmmakers from these areas lack access to distribution channels.

Our curators — experts in Asian and Pacific cinema studies – hand-pick our films for their cultural nuances and historical significance, and for their themes, filmic techniques and styles.  Most of them have won awards at film festivals around the world.

Our film selections present artistic works that are cultural treasures and offer viewers a broad historical and cultural context about Asia and Pacific.  We are creating an online library and archive because we believe the virtual environment is the best way to keep our cinematic heritage in perpetual circulation.

AsiaPacificFilms.com features high-quality reviews, exclusive interviews, theme-based searches, online commenting, podcasts, and much more.  We define Asia and the Pacific Islands by casting a  wide and long net.  Our collection of films is continually growing, so come back often to check what is new.

Our filmmakers — among them, renowned directors from China, Korea, India, Iran, and Southeast Asia — receive royalties. A portion of our profits go to support the important work of NETPAC. In the future, a special research and development fund will support future film projects of filmmakers who have contributed films to this website.
